The YouTube original American mini-series Cobra Kai was acquired by Netflix and is now streaming. Its absolutely hilarious; an absolute treat for GenXers who often get left-out, being as they are, sandwiched between Boomers and Millennials.
The show does not take itself too seriously at all, and while keeping the viewer engaged, remains light and entertaining. This series is a continuation of the Karate Kid movie which was a huge success, back in 1984. It’s set in our times, some 3 decades after the All Valley Karate Tournament. Miyagi’s protégé, Danny LaRusso is now a car dealership owner. Both Danny LaRusso and his arch rival Johnny Lawrence (on the mend) now have protégés of their own. And so the plot thickens — wonderfully.
The series starts off a little slow but hang in there. It pick ups a few episodes in, and hits binge-worthy status half way into season 1. Great entertainment. Check it out!
